Curb Appeal is Paramount when Selling your Home in Bolton and Caledon East

Bolton and Caledon East are currently experiencing a very competitive market.  Real Estate prices are holding steady but there are more houses out there than ever before.  In order to attract buyers to you property and create that all important first impression sellers are taking a good look at their curb appeal which can affect their final sale price by as much as 15-20%. A lot of people do judge a book by its cover.  In my experience I have had people actually balk at going  inside a house if they don't like the way the exterior presents itself.

Certain neighbourhoods create certain expectations in a buyers mind.  The Caledon area especially Caledon East and Bolton are associated with upscale housing.  So expectations are high when buyers are looking at Real Estate in these areas.  So it is important to make sure that the outside invites the buyer in. 

Before putting your house on the market make sure that the windows are sparkling clean, the lawn is cut and the shrubs are all neatly trimmed.  Its okay if you don't have elaborate landscaping, quite often buyers will want to do their own.  What is important is that what you have is tidy and clean.  If the windows are the eyes of the house the front door is the smile.  Make sure the front door is free of peeling paint and if possible give it a fresh coat of paint.

Buyers are always looking at the roof and eaves troughs.  Don't give them too much to look at. Repair any damaged shingles or flashing and make sure the eaves troughs are clean and downspouts are properly connected.  It is also best to store garbage and recycling bins out of sight from the front of the house.   And finally make sure the lights at the porch are working and the doorbell works. Give the sidewalk and driveway a sweep and buyers are going to feel welcome when they approach your house.
